Our Campuses

As a student of UHI Moray you have become part of the vibrant UHI partnership comprising over 30,000 students. We have three campuses in Elgin providing not only learning spaces but great places to eat, relax and socialise.

Our campuses are:

Moray Street Campus which includes Moray School of Art and our Hospitality and Tourism Academy;
Linkwood Technology Centre;
The Biblical Garden beside Elgin Cathedral

Our acting and performance students also have the benefits of studying with Out of the Darkness Theatre Company.

Students' association

When you study at UHI Moray, you'll automatically become a member of the Highlands and Islands Students' Association and the local Moray Team.

HISA represents students across the UHI and ensures your voice is heard and your student experience is the best it can be by:

Representing student views and improving the student experience
Organising events, activities and opportunities to help you connect with others
Working in partnership with university staff to create a positive learning environment

You can make your voice count by sharing feedback, becoming a class representative or standing for election as a student officer. HISA also supports students who want to start clubs, societies or community projects, helping you make the most of your time at UHI Moray.

Student life & Active Campus

Being a student isn't just about studying. It's also about meeting new people, experiencing new things and developing your confidence as an individual. Our Highlands and Islands Students’ Association (HISA) and Active Campus Co-ordinator support students to set up clubs and societies. You can join an existing club or society or create your own!

Freshers

Our annual Welcome Fayre for Freshers takes place at the start of the academic year, and gives you a great chance to find out more about the social side of things, as well as meeting your fellow students, local employers and voluntary organisations, and of course picking up lots of freebies and discount offers.

Discounts

We don't want you to miss out on all the fantastic discounts available to students.

When you start, you'll receive a digital student ID card, which will help you access these discounts.

You can download The UNiDAYS student app which will help you get the most out of being a student.

You can also join Totum Digital for free.

Locally, lots of businesses, shops, restaurants, bars and cafes also offer student discounts.

Our campuses are also served by Stagecoach, which offers a student discount.

Staying safe

Starting university or college can make you a target for crime, so make sure you keep safe.

We have fully trained first-aiders on campus during opening hours. Please ask Reception or a member of UHI Moray staff if you require first aid assistance. In case of an emergency, you should dial 999.

Travel information

Depending on where you are travelling from, there are a range of transport options. Our campuses are located in central Elgin just of the A96 truck road between Inverness and Aberdeen.

LEAP Sports Scotland

We have a variety of extra-curricular sports clubs on campus that are recognised by Leap Sports Scotland. More information can be found at Leap Sports website.

Indie Game Squad

Indie Game Squad was born out of a need to keep people motivated and focused on their game projects and to encourage people who may be interested in making games, but aren’t sure where to start, to give it a go.

It allows designers, developers, and gaming enthusiasts of all skill levels to discuss their projects and ideas in the indie game world (or outside of it, we’re not strict), to collaborate and help other game folk. Indie Game Squad runs regular meetups on discord for indie game developers, artists, players and enthusiasts. You can even take part in one of their regular game jams!

Moray Arts Development Engagement (M:ADE)

M:ADE is driven by the ethos of having a positive social impact through grassroots collaboration. Their aim is to build, adapt and respond creatively with and for local people of Moray. They are always open to collaboration with artists, community groups, education, organisations and businesses.

Food and Drink

Whether you're grabbing a quick coffee between classes, meeting friends for lunch or celebrating the end of an assignment, Moray offers plenty of places to eat and drink. From independent cafés and cosy bistros to restaurants serving fresh local produce, there's something to suit every taste and budget.

When it's time to unwind, Moray has a range of venues where you can catch up with friends and enjoy student life outside of your studies. From welcoming pubs to live entertainment, there's plenty of choice whether you're looking for a relaxed evening or a lively night out.
